Quick Post

Another quick example of the cute literal things kids say!

On the way to school this am, Riley was super excited about flags like he used to be. They were all blowing in the wind. Then we came around a corner to see more flags that weren't blowing in the wind. When he saw them he said - "Uh-oh Mommy! Look the flags not working!"

He's right! They weren't working! Awe....how sweet?!

Kaden's 2nd Birthday!

Riley had a lot of excitement this weekend too! We had Kaden's 2nd birthday party. It was at Pump It Up Jr, and he loved it of course. Then we went to Angie's house for a cookout that evening, and he loved that too! Kaden is the only kid I know that may actually like Toy Story and the characters more than Riley!

Here's a quick video of the end of the play time at Kaden's party...the most trying time for the parents to capture a picture of all the kiddos together!

That's Riley on the far right, then 3 over to the left in the green shirt is Kaden!

Then today my really good friend Ellen from back in my consulting days was in town from Boston, so she brought her 4 year old son Marek over to have a play date with Riley! He should be play dated OUT at this point! They had fun riding in the wagon, riding Riley's Strider bike and Harley electric car GiGi got Riley for Christmas. Kelly was washing the cars, so they rode them back and forth through the water stream for a REALLY long time! I've always said Ellen is the smartest woman I've ever met! She's like crazy, scary smart! Has been a scientist and studied whale communication, done some really interesting things. She's a VP at Forrester Research now, and she, her husband Tracey and Marek are all about to embark on an adventure for the rest of the year! They are moving to India then Singapore from May 1st through December! I can't imagine doing that! If anyone can do it, Ellen can though! Best of Luck to her and her family! As a side note, Ellen went to her FIRST EVER rodeo while she was here this weekend! She's backpacked around the world for a year, but never been to a rodeo! Too funny! She loved it! So did her son!

Kelly and I are all of the sudden getting a true glimpse into what the next 15 years has in store for us! Weekends planned around birthday parties and kids events! He hasn't even started any "activities" yet! I'm not sure we'll EVER be up for 7 or 8am activities on Saturdays! We all sleep later than that!

Toy Story 3 on Ice!

Last weekend we went to see Toy Story 3 on Ice. I was pretty sure Riley would be fine based on our adventure to Barney Live, but I wasn't sure how much he would get into it. He really liked it! It was so cute b/c one character would come out say Woody and Riley would turn to me and flip his hands up in the air and shrug his shoulders and say "Where's Buzz?" He did the same thing when Barbie came out - "Where's Ken?" So funny the correlations they make!

The Ice  before it all started.

Riley's loving it so far! Look at that smile!

The $15 snow cone! Argh! Disney prices for sure!

Riley complaining he can't see due to flash burn! He should be used to the paparazzi by now!

Awe! Our little So SWEET!

Giving Daddy the look!

Being shy! This just started recently!

Ken & Barbie dancing!

The Toys!

Riley's Buzz Year hat that came with my $10 cotton candy! Disney prices! ha!

He refused to wear it turned around the right way though!

The next day he almost had it on right! You can see the eyebrows at least!
We went with our friends Lance, Michelle and their daughter Reese who's 4. She loved it too! Then we had YUMMY Chuy's afterwards! I didn't even think to have someone take a picture of all of us! Another lost kodak moment! But I'm capturing the memory of who we went with here!

This ended up being the same as Barney though...Riley never quite recovered from the Intermission. Thank goodness every around us was dealing with dropped toys and fidgety kids!

For a couple of days after, Riley kept asking for more Toy Story on Ice which was funny b/c we weren't even sure he noticed it was on ice in the first place! When we showed him a preview on my iPad - he called it dancing.

Here's a couple of videos too. One of the "Toys" and one of the "babies" as Riley calls him. You can even hear him say it in the video. He calls the little aliens babies.

Riley had a lot of excitement last weekend. Thursday night he had a play date with Aubree from his school b/c Ms. Ashley brought him home from school with her 4 year old daughter so Kelly and I could have a date night. Then Friday, I watched Ethan and Emily while Kelly and Josh played volleyball until Nancy got off work so that was in effect another play date for Riley. It was also further confirmation that Kelly and I will NOT have more than 2 kids! OMG! There's no way I'll be outnumbered! I didn't get to stop for one second that night! And the trip to the playground was a whole new level of stress trying to keep them all in your sight! Ethan was upset it was taking me so long to change Riley and Emily's diapers before we went to the playground, then we had to leave the playground early b/c Ethan had to come home to potty! It was like a 3 ring circus!

Then Saturday we did Toy Story 3 on Ice! Wow! Then I felt like I didn't sit down one time Sunday b/c of all the stuff I needed to get done, so I needed a weekend to recover from my weekend! Too bad we don't get those! I always say that if I could work from home ONE day a week, it would drastically change my life and improve my work/life balance! I could do laundry, catch up on my email by not being in meetings all day! But now that I'm a manager..I guess I just don't get that luxury! There's always something I need to be there for! :(
